Raymond McAnally biography

Raymond is from Franklin, Tennessee. Raymond grew up taking martial arts, gymnastics, swimming, playing football, and soccer. Raymond was a member of the 4H club and an Eagle Scout by age 15. He spent every weekend in the woods with his best friends.

Artistically, he had a very renaissance youth; writing, sketching, woodcarving, leather working, playing percussion and writing lyrics in 'jam bands' around Nashville. Raymond also first came to acting, in High School, after a series of injuries made him decide to stop playing football.

Raymond received a B.A. in Philosophy from The University of the South at Sewanee. He was inducted into the National Philosophy Society and wrote his thesis on Kierkegaard's Indirect Communication. At Sewanee, Raymond tried every hat the theatre had to offer; from stage manager to carpenter, from actor to director and playwright. He was also a member and president of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, Iota Nu Zeta.

Raymond was accepted into the Professional Conservatory at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. He was in the last class to have Bill Esper full time. He cherishes the lessons and technique he learned at Rutgers. He completed his MFA in Acting and has been working ever since.
